Waste Management Operative - Food Manufacturing

Pay Rate: £13.96 per hour

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team in a waste management role within a food manufacturing environment. This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. The role has the potential to lead to a full-time position with the company. Interviews will take place during the week commencing 05/01/2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste materials in line with site procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure all waste bins and areas are regularly emptied, cleaned, and maintained to hygiene standards.
  • Support recycling efforts by properly sorting recyclable materials.
  • Monitor waste levels and report any overflows, contamination, or issues to the supervisor.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines when handling waste, including the use of appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain cleanliness across site waste zones (internal and external).
  • Work closely with production or warehouse teams to ensure timely and efficient waste removal.
  • Complete relevant documentation or checklists as required.
  • Operate any machinery or equipment related to waste disposal (training provided if required).
  • Support the wider facilities or hygiene team as needed.
