We are looking for a kind, reliable, and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support an individual with complex medical needs in a respectful, person-centred way. The role involves medical care including catheter and colostomy support; full training will be provided, so a willingness to learn and follow care plans carefully is essential.
The person you will be supporting is non-verbal and communicates using their own individual signs alongside iPad-based communication technology. Experience with non-verbal communication, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), or a strong interest in learning and adapting communication styles is very important for this role, as building trust and understanding is key.
Alongside medical and personal care, you’ll be supporting someone who has a real love of steam trains. Sharing in conversations, activities, or outings this interest will be a valued and enjoyable part of the role, helping to enrich their daily life and independence.
The position offers around 6 hours per week at £13 per hour, with flexible working hours and the possibility of increasing hours over time. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, observant, and genuinely motivated to make a positive difference in another person’s life.
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.
Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
