Job description

We are seeking a committed, inspiring, and aspirational Learning Support Assistant Apprentice to join our Inclusion Department in Spring 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship. The role will include remote CPD sessions (a minimum of 6.5 hours per week during normal working hours) and two national conferences. It is ideal for someone keen to work in a school environment or who wants experience with a view to progressing to Teacher Training.

Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals or small groups of students in the classroom.
  • Support students with social and emotional well‑being.
  • Implement specific programmes with individuals or small groups appropriate to their development needs throughout the curriculum area and / or internal interventions.
  • Assist in devising individual student targets and support regular monitoring and review.
  • Develop positive relationships with students and staff to assist with student progress and attainment.
Apprenticeship Programme

The programme includes:

  • Structured learning delivered by United Learning’s apprenticeship team.
  • On‑the‑job training in a supportive school environment.
  • Development of skills in classroom practice, SEND support, and student engagement.Regular reviews and mentoring to help you succeed.
  • A nationally recognised qualification upon completion.
Requirements
  • Be 16 or over, not in full‑time education, and have the right to work in England.
  • Be employed in a school support staff position or seeking this employment, with an employment contract that lasts long enough to complete the apprenticeship if not a permanent position.
  • Live in the UK or EEA for the past three years (with some exceptions).
Salary & Contract

United Learning Apprentice Scale: £7.79 per hour‑£12.81 per hour (Dependent on age, qualifications and experience).
Contract: Term Time Only, 37.5 hours per week (with 20 % off the job learning included).
