Job summary
A healthcare provider in Bromley is seeking an experienced professional to assist in medicines optimisation and provide training on safe medication handling. The role involves interprofessional collaboration and policy development within various healthcare settings. Ideal candidates will contribute to quality improvement measures and support national prescribing policies. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £30,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Assist the PCN multi-disciplinary team to ensure efficient medicines optimisation processes.
- Implement effective ordering and return processes to reduce medication wastage.
- Provide training on the legal, safe, and secure handling of medicines.
- Promote Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) and online ordering.
- Develop relationships with other pharmacy professionals and team members.
- Aid practice reception teams in managing general prescription requests.
- Support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance.
- Assist the PCN in delivering on the QIPP agenda and QOF.
- Contribute to quality improvement measures and Quality Framework.

Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Medicines Optimisation: Assist the PCN multi-disciplinary team to ensure efficient medicines optimisation processes.
- Ordering and Returns: Implement effective ordering and return processes to reduce medication wastage.
- Training and Support: Provide training on the legal, safe, and secure handling of medicines, including the implementation of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
- Promote eRD: Promote Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) and online ordering.
- Interprofessional Collaboration: Develop relationships with other pharmacy professionals and team members to support integration across various healthcare sectors.
- Streamline Prescription Requests: Aid practice reception teams in managing general prescription requests, allowing GPs and clinical pharmacists to focus on more complex requests.
- Implement Prescribing Policies: Support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes, and other primary care settings.
- Support QIPP and QOF: Assist the PCN in delivering on the QIPP agenda, Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), and locally commissioned enhanced services.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement measures and the Quality and Outcomes Framework.
- Policy Development: Assist the PCN in reviewing and developing practice policies to meet CQC requirements.
