Summary

Newly qualified technicians are welcome to apply – full training will be provided. Key tasks will include the following:

  • Assisting and supervising the provision of a chemotherapy compounding service.
  • Ensuring the safe and accurate provision of supportive medication.
  • Supporting the roles of and working under the supervision of the Chief Technician & Accountable Pharmacist.
Main Duties
  • Assisting in the provision of a safe, efficient, and high-quality aseptic pharmacy service.
  • Assisting in the provision of a safe, efficient, and high-quality dispensing service of supportive medication.
  • Actively encouraging adherence to all procedures relating to aseptic services and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Having an excellent working knowledge of all procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Participating in the writing, review, and update of Standard Operating Procedures and other Quality Assurance (QA) documentation.
  • Liaising with pharmacists, production staff, and ward staff on a daily basis to help regulate and manage workflow efficiently.
  • Participating in Pharmacy Team meetings as required.
  • Problem-solving at short notice such as stock supply, staff issues, equipment failures, capacity planning while maintaining day-to-day service efficiency and safety.
