Job summary
A leading legal recruitment agency is seeking a Locum Corporate Lawyer for an initial 4-month remote assignment. The ideal candidate should be a qualified solicitor, with strong transactional and advisory skills in corporate law. This part-time role (2–3 days per week) offers up to £70 per hour. Duties include assisting with business transactions and providing advice to stakeholders. Experience in local government is desirable but not essential.

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Corporate Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an initial 4-month assignment. This role offers fully remote working arrangements (other than collecting equipment) and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Corporate Lawyer to provide specialist support on a range of business transactions.
Position: Locum Corporate Lawyer
Duration: Initial 4 months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £70 per hour Outside IR35
Working Pattern: Part Time, 2–3 days per week (can do Full Time if needed)
- Assisting with the sale of businesses and transfer of business operations
- Advising on corporate structure, issues, and warranties
- Drafting and reviewing transactional and contractual documentation
- Providing commercial and corporate advice to senior stakeholders
- Supporting the wider legal team with related corporate and governance matters
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in corporate and commercial law
- Previous local government or public sector experience desirable but not essential
- Strong transactional and advisory skills, with experience handling complex corporate matters
