This is a hybrid working role.

To abstract and analyse complex clinical information and to assign codes using ICD10 and OPCS4 and enter these codes on to the trust's PAS system.

Work as a member of the clinical coding team with responsibility for the coding of allocated wards

Where a discharge summary is incomplete the coder will be responsible for extracting co-morbidities and other relevant supplementary information from handwritten, complex medical notes including retrieving histological results to ensure specificity and completeness of diagnostic coding

• oACC (Accredited Clinical Coding) Qualification requiring specialist in-depth knowledge and experience.
• oEducated to degree level
• oKnowledge of ICD10 and OPCS4 clinical coding classifications
• oKnowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
