Job summary

The role involves working on products like Sunseeker and Princess, applying gel coats, and performing laminating processes. The ideal candidate should have over 2 years of experience in quality-driven industries and a thorough understanding of GRP laminating.
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in the Marine, Aerospace, Automotive or other quality-driven industry.
- Thorough understanding of GRP laminating and associated processes.
- Familiarity with pre-preg autoclave processes.
Responsibilities
- Preparing moulds ready for gel.
- Reading and understanding lay-up specifications.
- Application of gel coat.
- Performing a range of laminating processes.
- Keeping track of daily time spent on jobs.

Working in a team environment, you will work on a range of products including Sunseeker, Princess, Williams Jet Tenders, ECB Spas, etc. Your role involves reading and understanding lay‑up drawings, applying gel coat, and using laminating skills to meet lay‑up specifications. You will also identify errors or changes on any particular job and may need to interchange between composites and GRP sites due to workload demands.
- Preparing moulds ready for gel
- Reading and understanding lay‑up specifications
- Application of gel coat
- Performing a range of laminating processes: wet lay, infusion, vac‑bagging, pre‑preg or RTM
- Use of hand tools
- Identifying laminating defects
- Use of core materials and generic bonding pastes
- Releasing simple moulds
- Use and control of patterns and jigs
- Use of a wide range of fabrics, CSM and cloths in dry and pre‑preg formats
- Basic housekeeping duties
- Recording daily time spent on jobs on timesheet
- Correct use of PPE
- Being accountable for your own work
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
- Good team player and excellent communicator
- Thorough understanding of GRP laminating and associated processes, including trimming and grinding
- Familiarity with pre‑preg autoclave processes and materials such as carbon and glass
- Understanding of quality processes
- 2+ years’ experience in the Marine, Aerospace, Automotive or other quality‑driven industry (preferable)
- Willingness to listen, learn and share your knowledge
