With facilities based in the UK and Czech Republic, the Avantus Aerospace's businesses provide dedicated inventory management and tailored logistics solutions to a global customer base with high serve levels. Established for over 55 years, formerly known as Pillar Seals & Gaskets PSG, PSC Global is a specialist supply chain integrator, with a particular focus on products for specialist sealing solutions. In addition to the manufacture of gaskets and O ring seals in standard and exotic materials, PSC Global acts as an out-sourced service provider for the supply of gaskets, shims, polymers, plastic mouldings, conventionally and photo-chemically machined components, sub-assemblies and kits. Working with our customers we are able to reduce their vendor base as we deal with many of the worlds leading brands.

Supervisory Responsibility: No direct team members. Support & coaching wider team on technical matters.

Job Purpose: Providing technical direction and expertise, translating customer and business requirement, into viable solutions. This role will be a mix of new business development and existing account management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To ensure the highest standards of integrity, reliability, availability, efficiency and security in all management and operational business systems of the company and to ensure that the appropriate levels of corporate governance are adhered to.

  • Responsible for the growth of the manufactured gasket parts & assembly work packages.
  • Identifying and targeting new business opportunities within key markets.
  • Provide technical project management on all manufacturing aspects of NPI projects.
  • Work with the PSC UK and CZ management teams to deliver excellent levels of customer service.
  • Liaising with the sales account management team to manage supplier / customer requests.
  • Responsible for gasket & assembly estimates, quotations & supporting the Sales Team with other enquiries for product.
  • Ability to manage the end-to-end procurement process, including RFQs, supplier selection, negotiation to support sales project estimating.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience in a technical sales or account management role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts and a good understanding of the manufacturing processes used to produce gaskets, seals & electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and scopes of work to source suitable products and suppliers.
  • Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities while supporting existing customers.
  • Ideally minimum HND qualified in a related engineering discipline.
  • Extensive contacts to accelerate opening doors in engineering sector, primarily in gaskets, seals, electro-mechanical assembly & c-class standard parts kitting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in project management.
  • IT literate, including proficiency in MS office tools, CRM and ERP systems.
Principal Accountabilities
  1. Assisting in delivering all aspects of the PSC business strategy in line with the overall objectives of PSC Global and wider Avantus Aerospace Group strategy.
  2. Be the primary customer interface for technical sales.
  3. Meeting budgetary, growth & profit margin thresholds for new business and new product lines.
  4. Ensuring that the business is run in a professional and effective manner exceeding all our internal and external customer’s expectations.
Relationships

Identify the significant internal and external relationships which must be maintained for your job to be carried out effectively: Working largely unsupervised, with internal support as required. You will report to the Sales & Marketing Director and have significant interaction with the Operations Director. You must also respond promptly, courteously and cooperatively to enquiries from other PSC employees regarding any queries they may have. Engagement with sister company sales streams to enable cross selling, unlocking aerospace clients for our production capabilities.
