Job description

A well-established and respected Toolmaking company, specialising in both new injection mould tool manufacture and tooling repairs/modifications, is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join their multi-skilled team of CAD Designers and Toolmakers.

Up to £45,000, Days Monday - Friday

Working in a state-of-the-art toolroom, you will enjoy a varied workload - ranging from initial concept work through to tool sampling, inspection reporting, modifications, and repair projects.

As an Injection Moulding Toolmaker, your duties will include:
  • Manufacturing, servicing, repairing, and modifying injection mould tools
  • Assessing customer-supplied tooling and components, determining the most effective approach for repair or modification
  • Reverse-engineering and documenting components within injection mould tools, as well as parts used in mechanical and precision engineering
  • Liaising with the Toolroom Manager to plan and prioritise workload
To be successful in the role of Toolmaker, the ideal candidate will:
  • Be time‑served or hold a recognised mechanical engineering qualification
  • Have experience repairing and maintaining injection mould tools
  • Be competent in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, manual spark eroders)
  • Be able to read and interpret 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Have experience with CAD, 3D modelling, and CNC machining
