About The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic / Plant Technician to join our team on a permanent full-time basis in Geelong, Melbourne. In this dynamic role, you'll be at the forefront of servicing, repairing, and maintaining our specialized fleet vehicles. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring peak performance and longevity of our fleet, directly contributing to the seamless operation of our organization.

Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, your key responsibilities will include :

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on our heavy diesel vehicles
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and rectify faults in vehicle systems
• Implement and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and maximise vehicle reliability
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities
• Complete works in an efficient and timely manner for both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
• Promote a safe work environment by following proper safety protocols and using appropriate PPE

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have :

• Mechanical trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is essential
• Previous experience working on Vac Tricks highly desirable
• Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic, with expertise in repairing and maintaining heavy diesel-powered vehicles, previous Volvo experience highly desirable
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
• The ability to work to schedules with strong time management
• Be prepared to work overtime
• White Card and unrestricted HR licence highly regarded
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and national police clearance
