The Artisan Recruitment Group is looking for a Fitter/Mechanical Engineer in the Marine Industry for a contractor in the Fareham area.

Working for a family-run business, the ideal candidate will be seeking a long-term career with the potential to transition to a permanent role.

Candidates must have:

• Level 3 in Engineering (NVQ or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience
• Driving license (or in the process of obtaining one)
• Over the age of 21
• Ability to pass SC clearance

Preferred skills and qualities:

• Experience with refits
• Propulsion work (e.g., removal and refit of shafts, couplings, propellers, and bearings)
• Overhaul of valves
• Willingness to work weekends within reason
• Creative and problem-solving mindset
• Positive attitude
• Ability to take responsibility and communicate effectively with line managers
• Willingness to learn welding, as it may be required
