Job summary
A construction recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Estimator for remote work in civils and utilities projects. The role involves developing cost estimates, analyzing documents, and liaising with suppliers. Applicants should have at least 6 years of experience in similar roles related to water projects and possess strong communication skills. The position offers competitive pay of £350 - £400 per day.

Responsibilities
- Develop accurate cost estimates and pricing models for civils and utilities projects.
- Review drawings and specifications; perform quantity measurements and scope breakdowns.
- Source and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assess risks and opportunities within each tender and provide value-engineering input.
- Work closely with pre-construction and engineering teams to align estimates.
Skills
We are partnering with a 'cradle to grave' project delivery partner specialising in planning, commercial and project management. Due to continued growth in their team, they are seeking an experienced Estimator to aid with their civils and utilities projects.
- Tender Preparation & Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates and pricing models for civils and utilities projects, with a strong focus on clean and dirty water infrastructure works such as pipelines, pumping stations, chambers, and associated groundworks.
- Document & Scope Analysis: Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation; carry out detailed take-offs, quantity measurements, and scope breakdowns to support competitive bid submissions for a leading civils and utilities contractor.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison: Source and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive rates while maintaining strong working relationships across the supply chain.
- Risk, Opportunities & Value Engineering: Assess potential risks and opportunities within each tender, provide value-engineering input, and contribute to building commercially robust bids for water and utility frameworks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with pre-construction, engineering, and project delivery teams to align estimates with technical requirements; prepare clear cost summaries and maintain accurate estimating records while working remotely.
- Must have 6+ years' experience in a similar role on water projects
- Must have excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
£350 - £400 per day + Remote working
