Job summary

A market-leading Defence and Aerospace company based in Bristol seeks an Embedded Software Engineer for a 6-month contract. Candidates should have experience in Embedded Software Development using C/C++ and familiarity with V&V activities in embedded environments. Key responsibilities include verification and validation of application software along with developing structured test cases. A good knowledge of standards like DO-178C and experience in safety-critical systems is essential. This position requires obtaining UK SC clearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience with verification and validation activities.
  • Practical problem-solving and data acquisition expertise.
  • Experience working in a lab environment on electro-mechanical products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for verification and validation activities on real-time systems application software.
  • Develop robust test cases from requirements and execute tests.
  • Adapt to practical problem-solving needs in the role.

Skills

V&V activities in an embedded software environment
Ability to turn requirements into structured test cases and procedures
Embedded software development experience using Ada and/or C/C++
Knowledge of test automation methods
Scripting abilities
Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems
Safety critical systems experience
Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle
