A leading healthcare trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join their team in Swindon. You will deliver high-quality mental health services to children and young people, participating in a multi-disciplinary team to provide both crisis support and ongoing care. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and significant experience in mental health, with opportunities for professional development and training available.
Are you dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people? Do you thrive in environments where you can deliver impactful, short-term interventions? We, the Crisis and Home Treatment Service (CAHTS) within the Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) CAMHS, are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join us, based in Swindon.
You will participate in a full-time pattern within a multi-disciplinary team to provide cover for a core day 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday-Sunday and Bank Holidays. You will also participate in covering the service\'s 24-hour on-call service on a rota basis. We work closely with the Getting More Help Teams to support children, young people (CYP) and their families with complex mental health needs. Our CYP may be at risk of inpatient admission or transitioning out of inpatient care; our role is to provide intensive, short-term support within the community.
This is an opportunity with a strong multi-disciplinary leadership team, offering clinical supervision and professional development, including preceptorship. There is an incentive premium of £3,500 paid in instalments over 18 months (not open to existing Oxford Health employees; subject to a claw-back clause). Further information will be provided.
In CAHTS, deliver high-quality, comprehensive mental health services for children, young people and families experiencing additional mental health needs. Support CYP and families with psycho-social education and practical assistance, drawing on evidence-based interventions. Liaise with wider CAMHS, Children\'s Services and external agencies such as Children\'s Social Care and Education. Be responsible for initial assessments and delivery of time-limited, short-term interventions to address emotional and mental health needs in crisis, with the aim of reducing longer-term problems.
You may offer emotional support to adolescents and/or their parents in crisis or preparing to leave psychiatric inpatient care. Training opportunities include Positive Behaviour Support, AMBIT, DBT coping skills, and Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders, with further training available based on learning needs. If you have questions about the role, contact Clare Fry at clare.fry@oxfordhealth.hs.uk or 07785663323.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a very supportive team. Clinical supervision and professional development are priorities, and preceptorship is supported. Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care across multiple regions. Services are delivered in community bases, hospitals, clinics and people\'s homes, as close to home as possible. Our vision is to deliver outstanding care by an outstanding team, and our values are caring, safe and excellent.
We offer a range of benefits to support your career and wellbeing, including opportunities for progression, learning and development, annual leave, NHS discounts, a competitive pension, lease car and cycle-to-work schemes, Employee Assistance Programme, Mental Health First Aiders, staff accommodation (wait lists may apply) and staff networks through our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team.
