Afterpeak is a rapidly growing music company and record label with a unique focus on cover recordings and trend-driven releases. With a catalog exceeding 30,000 titles, Afterpeak operates at the intersection of music licensing, streaming optimization and creative A&R development. Originating from the YouTube space, our team has evolved into a full-scale label operation with active distribution, marketing, licensing and creative departments. We operate fully remotely, with a team of 20+ professionals based across multiple countries.

As the Head of Label Operations, you will be the operational engine of Afterpeak. You will translate the CEO's vision into actionable strategy and oversee the entire day-to-day business of the label. This role requires a seasoned music industry executive who thrives on building systems, leading teams, and turning creative passion into tangible results. You will be the key integrator, ensuring all departments work in harmony to achieve our ambitious goals.

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership:
   • Collaborate with the CEO to set and drive the company’s vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs.
   • Oversee all core business operations, including A&R administration, marketing campaigns, release schedules, distribution, and rights management.
   • Design and implement business processes, systems, and structures to improve efficiency and support rapid growth.
   • Analyze performance metrics across the company to provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
2. Team Management & Development:
   • Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team across all departments.
   • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
   • Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and professional development.
   • Lead key internal meetings, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and execution on priorities.
3. Business Growth & Industry Relations:
   • Leverage your deep industry knowledge and network to identify and pursue new revenue streams, strategic partnerships, and business opportunities.
   • Represent Afterpeak with key partners, including DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music), publishers, agents, attorneys, and other industry stakeholders.
   • Lead negotiations on high-level agreements and contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the label and our artists.
   • Ensure the efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI on artist projects and marketing initiatives.
   • Oversee the integrity of royalty accounting and financial reporting.

• A Proven Operator: You have 8+ years of progressive leadership experience within a record label, music publisher, or artist management company, with a proven track record in a Head of Label Operations, General Manager, or similar role.
• A Music Industry Expert: You have a comprehensive understanding of the modern music business, including digital strategy, streaming economics, music rights, and artist development.
• An Exceptional Leader: You are a natural mentor with a talent for building and motivating teams. Your communication and interpersonal skills are second to none.
• A Strategic Thinker: You can see the big picture but are obsessed with the details of execution. You are highly organized, process-driven, and a master at problem-solving.
• Financially Astute: You are comfortable with royalty statements, budgets, and financial modeling.
