An NHS foundation hospital is seeking applications for a Subspecialty Senior Clinical Fellowship programme in Trauma Anaesthesia. This role, which spans from 05 August 2026 to 03 August 2027, involves developing anaesthetic skills with major trauma patients while supervised, ultimately progressing toward independent practice. Candidates should have an FRCA or equivalent qualification, and a current GMC registration is mandatory. This position offers a salary of £85,732 plus on-call payments, and potential sponsorship for skilled workers.
Applications are invited for a Subspecialty Senior Clinical Fellowship programme in Trauma Anaesthesia at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK.
The post will run from 05 August 2026 to 03 August 2027.
This fellowship post is suitable for applicants who have completed or are near completion of a recognised anaesthetic specialist training programme, or who already possess a CCT in anaesthesia.
The fellow will develop and increase anaesthetic experience with major trauma patients prior to taking up a consultant post. Supervision will be tailored to the fellow's prior experience, with the ultimate aim of independent practice under distant supervision. The fellow will work at a junior consultant level with senior consultant support and participate in a non‑resident on‑call rota at a 1:8 frequency.

The fellow must be registered with the GMC with a current licence to practice at the time of commencement.

CUH offers experience in transplant and hepatobiliary anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and trauma, neuroanaesthesia, women's health and obstetrics, paediatric anaesthesia, upper GI and colorectal surgery, ENT airway, major reconstructive head & neck, maxillofacial surgery, vascular anaesthesia, major surgeries and acute & chronic pain management.
There are close links with the University of Cambridge Department of Anaesthesia and opportunities for sub‑specialty fellows to engage in research and other career development activities. Fellows will play an active role in non‑clinical activities in their specialty of interest as part of their professional development and will be assigned an educational supervisor who will review progress regularly.

Applicants must have a current UK professional registration. Non‑UK applicants must provide a valid IELTS/OET score before obtaining a GMC licence. Skilled worker sponsorship is available and will be considered with all other applications.
Applicants are required to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants over 18 years are also subject to this requirement.
