A leading retail company located in Welwyn Garden City is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to manage the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Interested applicants should have proven experience in payroll administration and proficiency with payroll software. This role includes additional benefits such as an annual bonus scheme and generous holiday entitlement.

Formación

You will be responsible for

  • Check the number of hours employees have worked.
  • Calculate wages and salaries.
  • Handle all aspects of payroll administration, including starters, leavers, statutory payments, and terminations.
  • Calculate pay raises.
  • Issue tax forms and related documentation and assist employees in completing them.
  • Deduct tax and national insurance payments.
  • Resolve issues employees have with timesheets, payslips, and other payroll matters.
  • Change employee bank records when necessary to process payments accurately.
  • Process third-party payments.
  • Calculate sick pay.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and assist with ad-hoc payroll tasks.
  • Prioritise workloads and constantly switch tasks and databases while answering telephone queries and dealing with employees.
  • Work to deadlines.
  • Maintain the Payroll mailbox.
  • Administer Attachment of Earnings.

You will need

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
