Job summary
A leading ICT consultancy is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage SQL and Oracle database systems. The role is fully onsite, requiring 4 days in London and 1 day in Milton Keynes. Candidates must have strong SQL/Oracle skills and prior experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Security clearance is also a prerequisite for this role, making it crucial for candidates to hold high-level security clearance or have held it previously.
Qualifications
- Experience in database administration, including back‑ups, maintenance, performance monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server internals.
- Able to work to tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Installation, Configuration, Maintenance, Performance of DB systems – SQL and Oracle.
- Monitor and tune databases to optimize availability and troubleshoot performance.
- Ensure backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
