An organised and proactive Science Technician / School Laboratory Assistant is required to support high-quality practical learning, ensuring efficient preparation of equipment and maintaining a safe, well‑resourced science environment.

Salary: £25,186 per annum FTE / Actual Salary £20,433 per annum + Benefits
Location: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire
Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent
Working Hours: 35 Hours per Week, 08:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only (39 weeks)
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Science Technician / School Laboratory Assistant who will support practical science teaching by preparing equipment, helping to deliver safe lessons and ensuring resources are well organised and ready for use.
As a Science Technician / School Laboratory Assistant you will assist teaching staff during practical work, help maintain apparatus, support curriculum delivery and follow Health and Safety procedures including COSHH/CLEAPSS. You will bring strong organisational skills and a flexible, proactive approach to a busy school setting.
As a Science Technician / School Laboratory Assistant you will also prepare solutions, maintain microscopes and data loggers, support inventory checks and help set up equipment for enrichment activities such as STEM workshops.
