A leading healthcare organization in the UK is seeking a Consultant Breast Radiologist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mammography reporting and breast ultrasound, and will engage in breast assessment clinics as well as participate in the MDT. This role offers excellent career and training opportunities along with working in a supportive team environment in Swansea.
This is a new post joining 3 Consultant Breast Radiologists, 1 Consultant Radiographer and 1 Advanced Practitioner. The post holder should be competent in mammography reporting, breast and axillary ultrasound, and image guided biopsy of the breast and axilla. It would also be desirable if the radiologist has experience in additional procedures such as vacuum assisted biopsy/excision, preoperative localisation techniques and breast MRI reporting. Experience of contrast enhanced mammography would also be desirable. Participation in the Breast MDT will be essential. The post holder will be expected to undertake symptomatic breast assessment clinics and actively engage in the breast MDT. The breast unit is based in Singleton, but the role may require some sessions to be performed in Neath Port Talbot Hospital. There is also the potential for Screening sessions at Breast Test Wales in Swansea. Participation in the general on call is not expected for this post, but if the candidate wished to participate this can be discussed. This is currently on a 1 in 17 basis. They could also participate in the Duty Radiologist rota covering inpatient scanning in Morriston, and an afternoon duty radiology rota in Singleton, but this is not expected.
