I am recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering organisation that delivers advanced water‑treatment technologies to a wide range of industrial clients. Due to continued growth, the organisation is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Peterborough facility, which designs, builds, and supports mobile water‑treatment systems used across multiple global sites.

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key part in supporting both local and global engineering projects. You will work closely with the design, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver high‑quality, efficient, and customer‑focused design solutions.

• Develop 3D model designs using SolidWorks or AutoCAD, producing detailed fabrication drawings and review packs.
• Support the design and engineering of mobile asset water‑treatment systems for build and upgrade projects.
• Work collaboratively with the design team to develop and refine concepts.
• Select materials and equipment in line with specifications and certifications.
• Use SAP for material master data, inventory, drawings and BOM management.
• Support EHS, Quality, MOC engineering actions and participate in HAZOPs.
• Assist in supplier identification, part selection and technical review of quotations.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing sites in the UK and internationally.
• Offer guidance and training to interns, new starters and outsourced engineering partners.
• Carry out site visits and as‑built surveys.

• Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical or Environmental Engineering (BSc/MEng/MSc).
• Experience or industrial placement within the water industry is advantageous.
• Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD and SolidWorks is preferable.
• Curious, solutions‑driven mindset with a focus on service‑led design.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
