As an Optometrist at Boots, you’ll play a key role in delivering brilliant patient care – using the latest tech, working alongside experienced colleagues, and supporting your community with clinical excellence. Key responsibilities

• Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
• Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice
• Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs
• Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
• Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
• Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
• Playing a key role in your store’s leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

• We’re looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always focused on doing the right thing for patients.
• GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)
• NHS performer number (or working towards it)
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration

It would be great if you also have

• Experience supporting enhanced services
• A strong understanding of local clinical networks

Need To Know

We have an exciting opportunity for an Optometrist to join our thriving Boots Opticians practice in the heart of Cambridge city centre — a vibrant, historic location buzzing with activity and opportunity.

Our Cambridge Yard store is a busy city‑centre practice with three modern testing rooms and a friendly, experienced team of 14, including 1 Dispensing Optician, 2 Contact Lens Opticians and 2 resident Optometrists. You’ll be part of a supportive environment where collaboration and clinical excellence come first.

We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Optometrists, and there’s also a fantastic opportunity to develop your career further as a Pre‑Reg Supervisor.

Our opening hours are:
Monday to Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 3:30pm

Some weekend working will be required, and flexibility is key to providing the best service for our patients.
