A leading further education institution in South Shields is seeking a proactive Maintenance Electrician to join its Estates team. This role involves carrying out electrical inspections and maintenance in line with regulations, supporting repairs across the college, and ensuring a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will be qualified with experience in building maintenance and possess excellent communication skills. A full UK Driving Licence is required, and a focus on professional development is valued.
Qualificações
- Qualified electrician with 2391 qualification.
- Experience working in maintenance, particularly electrical.
- Physically able to undertake manual handling.
Responsabilidades
- Carry out electrical inspections and maintenance following regulations.
- Support repairs across the college estate.
- Ensure a safe working environment through method statements.

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Electrician to join our Estates team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic Further Education (FE) environment where your skills will directly support the learning and wellbeing of our students and staff.
- Carrying out electrical inspections, testing, and maintenance in line with 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations and 2391 standards.
- Supporting maintenance and repairs across the college estate.
- Following method statements and safe systems of work to ensure a safe working environment.
- Working flexibly as part of a team and independently to meet operational needs.

- IT literate, with experience using Microsoft Office.
- Proven experience in building maintenance.
- 2391 Periodic Inspection and Testing qualification.
- 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (minimum).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or willingness to work towards).
- Physically able to undertake manual handling (training provided).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Organised, reliable, and committed to continuous professional development.
- Full UK Driving Licence with Business Insurance.
- Experience working in a Further Education environment.
- Level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy.
