The role will suit an experienced Senior Legal Counsel stepping into a General Counsel position. It is a fully office-based role in the Heathrow Airport Area (5 days a week).

We are looking for a General Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of our business, taking a strategic view of our risk exposure and advising on mitigation within our expanding business. You will provide legal advice and support to management on relevant issues.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide accurate and timely legal counsel to executives on various topics (commercial agreements, dispute resolution, corporate finance, and commercial law).
2. Oversee complex legal transactions from a project management perspective, ensuring input from all relevant stakeholders.
3. Lead risk management strategies within the company.
4. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Handle Company Secretarial duties.
6. Draft and review agreements, contracts, and legal documents.
7. Manage external counsel and consultants to ensure value for money.
8. Clarify legal language or specifications within the company.
9. Stay informed about legal developments and legislative changes.

Skills & Experience

1. Qualified UK solicitor with a minimum of 10 years PQE (considering other PQE levels and qualified lawyers from other common law jurisdictions eligible for QLT).
2. Excellent knowledge of corporate law, especially corporate finance, dispute resolution, and contracts.
3. Methodical with strong attention to detail.
4. Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to legal practice.
5. Solid training from a reputable law firm and/or business environment.
6. Proven experience as legal counsel in a fast-paced setting.
7. High ethical standards and integrity.
8. Good judgment and analytical skills.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Excellent communication skills.
11. Approximately 8 years of experience in a small to medium national law firm before transitioning to business.
