Job summary
A recruitment agency in the UK is seeking an HGV Highways Operative to join a dedicated team in Plymouth. - Work as part of a team on highways repairs and maintenance.

- Drive and operate equipment as needed for daily tasks.
- Supervise and direct less experienced operatives when necessary.
Skills
Our clients are looking for a Highways Operative to join their hardworking dedicated team in Plymouth.
- Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
- Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
- Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set.
- Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
- Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
- Clean driving License.
- A commitment to Health and Safety.
- Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
- CSCS Card.
- Highways experience.
- HGV licence.
- New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA).
- Operative Accreditation Lantra 12d.
- Winter Works.
£13.00-£13.50 per hour depending upon experience. These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from accrued Holiday Pay from day one, Pension contributions (after a qualifying period), Weekly Pay. No Umbrella payments or fees; only Tax and National Insurance deductions will be shown on your payslip.
