Our client, a leading global technology business, is looking for a Data Engineer to work on a new mission-critical system that will preserve and improve the trusted experience provided to its customers. This is a greenfield initiative with ample opportunities for innovation in the security space through new machine learning techniques.

We are seeking a passionate Data Engineer with a strong curiosity and inventive mindset. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and excellent communication skills (both with business and technical partners) are essential. Creating reliable, scalable, high-performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data analysis and modeling
• Knowledge of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with cloud and distributed software services, with an understanding of design for security, availability, and performance
• Strong analytical skills and proven design capabilities
• Sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
• Leadership abilities in engineering environments, driving operational excellence and best practices
• Proven track record of project delivery
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This is an initial 6-month contract, with reviews and extensions every 6 months, up to 2 years.

The role follows a hybrid working model in London (Shoreditch), requiring presence in the office 3 days per week.
