A healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Community Dietetic service. The role involves providing comprehensive administrative support while interacting with patients and staff. Ideal candidates will have strong administrative skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage confidential information. Flexibility and effective team collaboration are essential. This position may require travel across the service area.
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
A rare opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to support the friendly Community Dietetic service in north NHS Highland. There will be a focus on mental health services but not exclusively.
You will provide professional and comprehensive administrative and secretarial support and be the first point of contact for colleagues, patients and their families who are accessing the Community Dietetic service.
We are looking for an individual with an open, friendly manner who has strong administrative and computer skills. Ideally, a working knowledge and a high level of competence of Microsoft Office Packages. Knowledge and practical experience using hospital based systems, such as Track and digital dictation would be helpful, however training can be provided.
Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal are essential as well as a high degree of interpersonal skills with the ability to deal sensitively with highly confidential issues.
The ability to work unsupervised whilst using your own initiative as well as being able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team is essential. You must also be able to work to challenging timescales by organising and prioritising your workload and have the flexibility to respond well to rapidly changing demands.
The Community Dietetic service covers a wide geographical area with main base at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness; however we can offer some flexibility on where the post holder might be based. The role is likely to require some travel across the region to meet the needs of the service.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
If you are interested in this post or would like to know more about the role, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact Gail Lloyd, North NHS Highland Community Dietetic Manager, Tel 01463 704632 or email Gail.lloyd@nhs.scot.
