Job summary
A bespoke engineering solutions provider in Rochdale is searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team permanently. Candidates should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have 3+ years of industry experience, particularly in HVAC and building services. The position necessitates strong CAD skills, excellent communication abilities, and both team and individual work competencies. Competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £50,000 is offered based on experience.

ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC)
LOCATION – Rochdale
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – 40,000 – 50,000, dependent on experience
My client manufactures bespoke engineering solutions for industrial applications. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 3 or more years of industry experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ideally have some experience in a process industry within HVAC & Building services
- Knowledge and experience with Engineering consultancy, construction validation commissioning and design
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar
- Experience supervising others or managing teams would be ideal
- Knowledge of the RIBA stages
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
- Have excellent communication skills with experience in a customer–facing role
- Be a flexible team–player
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi–disciplinary team
- Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Completing designs, specifications and drawings around, air ventilation, heating/cooling, building management systesm
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multi–disciplinary team on varied projects
