Job summary
A fast-growing renewable energy developer in Edinburgh is seeking an Assistant Town Planner to join their expanding team. The role offers the opportunity to work on significant projects within a supportive environment, where you'll be responsible for preparing planning applications and conducting site assessments. Ideal candidates will have a degree in a relevant field and interest in sustainable development. The position includes hybrid working and prospects for professional development.

- A degree (or postgraduate degree) in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, Geography, or a related field.
- Some experience in a planning role (public or private sector) preferred, but strong graduates considered.
- Interest in renewable energy, environmental planning, or sustainable development.
- Strong written communication, research, and organisational skills.
Responsibilities
- Preparing planning applications and supporting documents.
- Conducting site assessments and planning policy research.
- Assisting with community engagement and consultation activities.
- Supporting appeals and environmental submissions.
- Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants.
- Helping coordinate planning inputs for renewable energy and infrastructure schemes.
