Job summary
A major Offshore Wind Farm Developer in the UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor. The role involves ensuring the quality of electrical installations, coordinating commissioning activities, and supervising contractors on HV primary and secondary systems. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on experience in high voltage systems, along with a degree in electrical engineering and advanced English communication skills. This position is critical for ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- 10 years of hands-on experience with installation and commissioning of up to 400kV electrical equipment.
- Experience in commissioning low voltage systems, both AC and DC.
- Advanced level in English speaking, reading, and writing.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality workmanship during electrical installation.
- Participate in daily planning and supervision.
- Coordinate and document test and commissioning activities.
- Supervise Contractor Pre-energisation activities.
- Report on installation and commissioning progress.
Skills
Education
Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in the United Kingdom.
- Ensure quality in relation to workmanship during electrical Installation.
- Be present in day-to-day planning and supervision, participating in toolbox talks, site coordination meetings, installation work, and test & commissioning activities.
- Ensure that commissioning within the defined technical area(s) is executed safely in accordance with industry standards and national legislation.
- Ensure that test and commissioning are properly coordinated and documented, in accordance with processes, using only accepted procedures.
- Supervise and proactively support that the work is carried out in compliance with the project HSE rules and local legislation.
- Align with and report to the Electrical Installation and Commissioning Manager.
- Responsible to follow up on contractors\' deliverables within agreed scopes.
- Perform day-to-day supervision and QA/QC during the Contractors electrical installation of HV Primary and Secondary systems.
- SAT witnessing of HV Primary and Secondary systems.
- Installation and commissioning progress reporting.
- Carry out comprehensive documentation review of completed test documentation and electrical schematic drawings.
- Facilitate Planning, co-ordination, and participation in Contractors SIT activities, ensuring all relevant test protocols are being followed and that all applicable safety systems and procedures are being adhered to.
- Recording quality observations (punches) and highlight potential NCRs.
- Supervise Contractor Pre-energisation activities.
- 10 years hands-on experience with the installation and commissioning of up to 400kV Primary and associated Secondary electrical equipment on onshore substations.
- Low voltage systems experience: Commissioning of low voltage electrical distribution systems, both AC and DC associated with Primary and Secondary systems.
- Have a completed degree or vocational training within electrical engineering.
- Speak, read, and write English at advanced level.
- Excel at establishing and maintaining good collaboration through acknowledging communication with stakeholders
