An exciting opportunity has arisen to take on the role of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Clinical Specialist across Dwyfor and Meirionnydd.
The Post holder will be required to:
Work as an autonomous, extended scope practitioner, with an extended scope of physiotherapy practice to work within a team to deliver a clinical specialist service to patients referred to MSK physiotherapy services.
Support the delivery of clinical services across Area West in a variety of locations according to service demands, delivering a high quality service in line with the clinical governance.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and development of practice in the specialist area of Musculoskeletal medicine within physiotherapy and work closely with the other MSK clinical specialists.
The physiotherapy service in BCUHB offers a whole career pathway to Band 8A as a clinical advanced practitioner. Service improvement and development is encouraged and all staff have access to regular supervision and training.

Main duties of the job
To take a clinical lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients where the caseload will comprise mainly patients with complex presentations.
To work as an autonomous, clinical specialist physiotherapist. To work with the advanced practitioner physiotherapist to develop and deliver a high quality clinical service throughout BCUHB. Leading by example; provide a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment of patients in a variety of locations.
To develop competencies for frontline clinical staff within the section in order to assess clinically reason and effectively treat routine cases and identify those with complex needs where support may be required. Support staff to develop skills to identify potential serious pathology in patients referred for physiotherapy.
To provide an ongoing rolling training programme and support package to develop appropriate knowledge and skills in the workforce within the specialism and rotational staff base.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
