Job summary
A local accountancy recruitment specialist is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant. This role is based in Birmingham with hybrid working—a modern office environment that requires collaboration with the Finance Manager and the Management Accounts team. Ideal candidates will have ACA/ACCA/CIMA studies and some experience in management accounts. This position offers the chance to work in a large, exciting business with great career prospects.

Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate month end preparation and reporting.
- Perform accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ad-hoc duties.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, your main duties include:
- Working closely with the Finance Manager, Management Accounts team and Purchase Ledger team to ensure accurate month end preparation and reporting of the monthly Management Accountants
- Accruals & Prepayments
- Revenue accruals & deferrals
- Variance analysis with commentary
- Matching costs to revenue to ensure accurate reporting
- Investigation and commentary on variances to budget
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Other ad-hoc duties
The role is flexible and offers hybrid working with only 2 days in the Birmingham Office and 3 days at home. The company operate from a modern office with a strong Finance Team of 60. The business is very flexible in its working patterns and due to the current ongoing growth offers great chances to gain valuable experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Studying ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- 12-months experience in management accounts
- Solid understanding of debits, credits and journals
- Hybrid Working
