Torus is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the Group’s financial position is reported accurately and on time. You’ll be responsible for producing clear, timely and insightful financial reports, as well as providing ad‑hoc analysis to support effective decision‑making across the organisation. Working closely with budget holders, you will help build confidence in their numbers and support them in achieving their commercial goals. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across all areas of Management Accounting while making a real impact within a forward‑thinking organisation.

This role offers hybrid working, with time split between home working, our Liverpool office and our HMS office in Stonebridge. Travel to our St Helens and Warrington offices may be required in line with business needs – therefore, a full driving licence is essential.

What you will be doing:
  • Producing accurate, timely monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
  • Supporting budget holders through regular financial planning meetings and providing insightful commentary.
  • Assisting with the annual budget‑setting process and quarterly Board reporting.
  • Managing designated balance sheet reconciliations and contributing to ongoing process improvements.
  • Providing financial support, advice and training to service and cost centre managers.
  • Preparing performance statistics and ad‑hoc financial reports.
  • Ensuring external financial returns are completed accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and continuous improvement.
  • Deputising for the Management Accountant or Development Accountant where required.
What we are looking for:
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of accountancy practices
  • Proven experience delivering financial management services
  • Ability to produce high-quality financial statements, analysis and value‑for‑money insights
  • Experience working collaboratively and taking collective responsibility for performance
  • Governance, financial compliance and balanced risk management experience
  • Full driving licence (essential due to travel requirements)
Interview Process:

Candidates will undergo in‑person interviews, consisting of a competency‑based interview. Interviews will take place on 20th January 2026 at our Liverpool City Centre office.
