Are you an experienced Criminal Solicitor looking for the chance to lead and grow your own department within a supportive and forward-thinking firm?
A well-established and expanding law firm based in Yorkshire is currently on a strategic recruitment drive. While the firm does not currently offer criminal defence services, it is open and enthusiastic about expanding into this area — either through an ambitious individual Solicitor with a clear vision, or an existing team seeking a new home.
The role will be Huddersfield or Leeds based, with part-time, flexible and hybrid working available for the right candidate.
This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead a Criminal Law department within a reputable, multi-office firm.
You’ll benefit from the firm’s strong infrastructure, solid reputation in other areas of law (including Family, Private Client and Property) and a leadership team that is open to innovation and growth.
Full operational and administrative support will be provided to help you focus on casework and business development.
Ideal for someone with the entrepreneurial drive to develop and shape a service line.
- A qualified Solicitor with strong experience in Criminal Defence, ideally with a track record of advocacy, case management and business development

- Duty Solicitor status and/or experience with Legal Aid Agency processes is highly desirable
