Job summary
A secondary school in Oldham is looking for an Assistant Head of Year to provide pastoral support to students. The role requires a resilient individual keen to promote academic and emotional success for pupils. Responsibilities include upholding behaviour standards, liaising with parents, and working with teachers to foster a supportive environment. The position is set to start ASAP, offering daily compensation between £100 and £115.
Qualifications
- Relevant pastoral experience working in KS3 and KS4.
- Ideally experience working with pupils at risk of exclusion.
Responsibilities
- Support students in an emotional, academic and social capacity.
- Uphold excellent standards for behaviour and attendance.
- Promote the school’s values and ethos.
- Deal with any safeguarding concerns appropriately and sensitively.
- Work with class teachers and senior leaders to support pupils.
- Liaise with parents regarding progress.
- Encourage and motivate pupils.
