A well-established construction business in Maidstone is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their stable and friendly finance team. The role involves processing subcontractor invoices and CIS payments, managing CIS submissions, and supporting various accounting duties. Ideal candidates will be AAT-qualified with experience in the construction sector or CIS-focused finance. Responsibilities

  • Processing subcontractor invoices and CIS payments.
  • Managing CIS deductions, submissions and monthly returns.
  • Assisting with purchase ledger, sales ledger and daily accounts processing.
  • Supporting monthly reconciliations and assisting with month-end tasks.
  • Handling supplier queries and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc duties as required.

Skills

AAT qualified (Level 3 or Level 4 preferred)
Experience within construction or CIS-focused finance role
Strong understanding of subcontractor processes and CIS legislation
Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive, reliable and comfortable working in a busy environment
