Job summary
An innovative accounting firm in Newbury is seeking an assistant accountant to manage sales and purchase ledgers and cash flow. The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified with at least 2 years of experience in an accounts team and excellent Excel skills. This role offers a competitive day rate and the possibility for hybrid work.

- Maintain the sales and purchase ledgers, cash flow, and bank account management.
- Liaise with the Financial Controller for monthly Management Accounts.
- Engage in general finance ad-hoc duties.
Skills
As an assistant accountant within our client, you will be responsible for maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers, cash flow and bank account management. You will provide liaison with the Financial Controller to ensure timely and accurate production of the monthly Management Accounts. In this varied role, you will be involved across sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash flow management, bank management and other general finance ad-hoc duties.

- You will ideally be fully AAT qualified, with a minimum of 2 years working within an accounts team.
- Excellent technical skills, especially on Excel will be essential to your success.
- You will have exceptional attention to detail, with excellent communication both written and verbally.
- By nature, you will be a strong team player who is willing to assist and also develop.
