Francis Holland Preparatory School educates girls aged 4–11 in an iconic building on Manresa Road, Chelsea, with facilities enabling two-form entry and approximately 20 girls per class. The school community is warm and vibrant, reflecting the multicultural nature of this part of London.

The Role

Francis Holland Preparatory School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and proactive professional to work as a Year 5 Teacher (Maternity Cover). FHP teachers are key to our Professional Learning Community; we engage in an expansive learning environment within our collegiate culture.

This opportunity would suit someone who wishes to work as part of a small, dedicated team and has a passion for education. The successful candidate will have experience in Key Stage Two (Key Stage Three also valuable – English or Mathematics), with QTS or post-graduate training relevant to the post. Experience in preparing girls for their Senior Schools of choice at 11+ would be beneficial, in addition to extensive experience in the Preparatory phase of education. We also welcome applications from teachers able to deliver an engaging and rigorous English curriculum and who can contribute to the continued success of our English Department.

The position is fixed term for the Spring and Summer Terms of the academic year 2025–2026 and the Autumn Term of the academic year 2026–2027. Starting date is 5 January 2026 until 11 December 2026 (for three academic terms).
