Year 1 Teacher – Maternity Cover (Medway)

Start Date: Monday 5th January 2026

End Date: End of Academic Year (July 2026)

About the Role

A lovely one‑form‑entry primary school in Medway is seeking an experienced Year 1 Teacher to join them on a maternity cover contract. This is a full class‑teacher role, including planning, teaching, assessment, and classroom responsibility. Weekly PPA time will be provided.

The school follows a structured and supportive curriculum model, with excellent resources and schemes already in place. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong practitioner who thrives in Key Stage 1 and enjoys contributing to a positive, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching to a Year 1 class.
• Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with curriculum expectations.

What We're Looking For

• Experienced Year 1 Teacher or primary practitioner confident within KS1.
• Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy development.
• Experience teaching RWI Phonics (beneficial but not essential).
• Familiarity with White Rose Maths, Kapow, and Grammarsaurus (training can be provided).
• A committed, organised, and enthusiastic teacher able to take ownership of the class.
• Someone confident planning and delivering high‑quality lessons.
