This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business.

Job Overview

As a Warehouse Team Manager at Alliance Healthcare, you will lead an operational section of our business, overseeing extensive activities to meet our customers' needs and drive operational excellence. You will ensure your team is engaged and performs to the highest standards against set key performance indicators, acting as an advocate for Alliance Healthcare's culture, values, and safety standards. Regular briefings and meetings will keep your team informed and motivated regarding operational requirements.

Job Specifics
  • Location: Alliance Healthcare, Belfast, BT3
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (flexibility required for Sunday shifts)
  • Shift Times: 17:45 - 02:15
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Salary: £38,000-£40,000 pa.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all colleagues understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) for Medicinal Products for Human Use and provide necessary training.
  • Develop and implement a clear operational plan to meet customer expectations.
  • Foster a safety culture, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  • Investigate operational failures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Lead by example in promoting workplace safety.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new colleagues aligned with Alliance Healthcare values.
  • Conduct one-to-one meetings, appraisals, and return-to-work interviews in line with company policy.
  • Manage employee investigations and disciplinary processes while ensuring adherence to company policy.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback for development.
  • Create and implement a daily resourcing plan for optimal operational output.
  • Deliver training on operational procedures, including GDP and SOPs, emphasizing housekeeping standards.
  • Support the Management Team in achieving departmental and company objectives.
Education
  • A qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Work Experience
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Understanding of GDP: Comprehensive knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) regulations and their application in a warehouse setting.
  • Performance Management: Experience in evaluating team performance and implementing development plans.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safety standards and the ability to promote a safety-first culture among team members.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to investigate operational failures and implement corrective actions effectively.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing business needs, including overtime and weekend shifts as necessary.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and warehouse management systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
