Job description

JOB: Warehouse Assistant

LOCATION: Colchester

SALARY: £23,300 per annum for 35-hour week (plus paid overtime)

Reed Recruitment in Colchester are looking for a Warehouse Assistant to work for a client based in Colchester on a full time, permanent basis.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm with an early finish on Friday working 8:30am to 1:30pm. The company operate a Christmas shutdown, and this is on full pay with no holiday used. This year it will be from 23rd of December returning on the 2nd of January.

Main duties include:

  • Ensuring that all goods that are picked and booked in match the relevant paperwork
  • Receiving, checking, recording, and storing stock as it is received.
  • Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy
  • Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
  • Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedule
  • VMI (Vendor-managed inventory), which involves using a hand-held scanner. Full training will be given
  • Forklift licence an advantage, but training can be given
  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck

  • Warehouse / stores experience is a must
