A local government organization is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their team in Dorchester. In this role, you will conduct safety inspections, repairs, and maintenance on a diverse fleet of vehicles including refuse trucks and mechanical sweepers. Dorset Council operates a diverse fleet of over 600 vehicles, including over 200 large goods vehicles supporting services like waste collection, highways, Dorset Travel, harbours and libraries. We’re recruiting an experienced Vehicle Technicians to join our busy, well-equipped workshops.
You’ll carry out essential safety inspections, repairs and routine maintenance across a wide range of vehicles—from car-derived vans to gritters, mechanical sweepers and refuse trucks. Your work helps keep vital frontline services running with minimal downtime.
