What you\'ll be doing
  • Safety Case architecture.
  • Developing a unique mind-set in which the question to be answered is not how does it work, but how does it fail. To do this you will;
  • Carry out a detailed Safety Inspection of the engineering design using tools such as Hazard Identification, Fault Tree Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, Event Tree Analysis and many others.
  • Develop an in depth understanding of the engineering design.
  • This is a role which requires relentless effort in which subjective questions must be answered with a compelling argument supported by a body of evidence.
  • Questions such as how can this piece of equipment or function fail, what would happen if it were to fail, what would be the consequence of its failure, how often will it fail, what safety measures are in place in the event of its failure, how often will the failure result in an accident, what is the risk associated with this failure, is the risk acceptable, has the risk been reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable.
  • As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing & lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
