Technical Manager
Technical Manager – East Midlands - Competitive Salary + Benefits

A market-leading and innovative company in the garden and consumer products sector is seeking a Technical Manager to join its UK-based technical team. This is a senior-level role responsible for leading new product development and ensuring regulatory compliance across a diverse and growing portfolio, including plant health products, biocides, pesticides, and other consumer garden inputs.

Responsibilities

• Product Development:
• Leading the development of new regulated and non-regulated products
• Managing formulation processes and feasibility evaluations
• Overseeing trials and continuous improvement projects
• Building long-term product innovation pipelines
• Liaising with suppliers and managing active input materials
• Monitoring product safety and portfolio performance

• Regulatory & Compliance:
• Ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations (PPP, Biocides, CLP, Fertilisers, etc.)
• Managing all regulatory submissions, renewals, and authorisations
• Maintaining up-to-date safety data sheets and technical documentation
• Monitoring legislative changes and advising on strategic implications
• Overseeing classification, labelling, and packaging compliance
• Engaging with regulatory bodies, contract labs, and industry groups

• Strong understanding of UK and EU regulations relevant to plant protection, biocides, pesticides, fertilisers, or garden products
• Proven ability to manage end-to-end product development cycles
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and advising external partners
