A local primary school in Coulsdon seeks a passionate Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support to children with additional learning needs. This role requires experience with SEN and a nurturing approach to inspire students. Responsibilities include working closely with the teaching staff to create a positive learning environment and support individual children's needs. Salary: £21,829 (based on FTE of £29,436 per annum)
Hours: Monday to Friday (30 hours per week)
Contract: Fixed Term contract until July 2026

We are seeking a highly engaging and nurturing individual to provide targeted support to children with additional learning needs, supporting them both within and outside of a classroom environment. Please note: Due to the nature of this support, these contracts are fixed term until the end of the academic year, where support is reviewed again for the following year.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual, to join our SEN Teaching Assistant team, providing targeted support whilst successfully nurturing and inspiring our children. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. You will be working as part of an energetic and busy team to provide additional classroom based and behavioural support to individual or small groups of children with additional learning needs. Experience of working with children in this capacity, as well as a caring and nurturing nature is essential.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the ability to relate well to children of all ages, promoting excellent behaviour standards and encouraging independence. You will be passionate about inclusion and will have the ability to inspire our children to have a love for learning whilst striving to be 'the best they can be'. You will have the opportunity to work alongside outstanding teachers, to observe and share best practice on a regular basis to further develop a career.
This position would suit an already experienced TA who has a passion for SEND and may already be working with children on this basis. Alternatively, you may have wider experience of working with adults with additional needs, who is seeking to broaden their experience working with children.
