This role encompasses teaching A Level English Literature, Language, and other programs. The Role
We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic member of staff to teach up to A Level in the English Department. The candidate should be able to teach a combination of A Level English Literature, A Level English Language and/or A Level English Language & Literature, with all department members delivering Level 2 English classes. The role can be full-time or part-time (4 days) and requires dynamism and passion for the subject. A friendly, supportive team and exceptional College facilities make this an exciting time to join our growing College. A full mentoring programme is arranged to introduce all new staff to sixth form college systems and procedures and to support and encourage professional development. The English Department is a dynamic and highly successful area of the College. Student recruitment numbers and the subjects offered have grown rapidly, and the department boasts consistently outstanding results. The department offers a broad and engaging curriculum and hosts enrichment activities such as trips to theatres and museums, student conferences, visiting performance poets and writers, talks from local university lecturers, and internal and external creative writing competitions. As part of the Woking Way programme, the College offers wider learning through short courses and lunchtime lectures. The Department has recently delivered talks on the adaptation of literary works, the nature of democracy and the value of the literary canon. These programmes expand learning beyond the timetable and support student development and UCAS applications. The Department works collaboratively and shares resources and pedagogical approaches within the department and with others. All teaching staff are provided with a laptop and the department has its own dedicated staff office/workroom.

Start Date: Monday 5 January 2026
Salary: £33,467 to £51,014 per annum, depending on experience (including fringe allowance). Figures subject to change in line with future nationally-agreed pay increases.
