Tax Associate – 1PQE+

A leading international law firm is seeking to significantly expand its London Tax practice and is actively recruiting high‑calibre Tax Associates at all levels. This is one of the firm’s fastest‑growing and most profitable groups, and the partners have deliberately opened the gates wide for exceptional candidates.

The Tax team is headed by a widely respected and exceptionally supportive partner, known for his collaborative leadership style and genuine commitment to associate development. The group currently comprises seven partners and twenty associates, and growth is a central strategic priority. They are very open to strong new talent at all levels, including associates, senior associates and lateral partners.

The work on offer is extraordinarily broad, spanning the full spectrum of corporate, finance and funds tax. Associates gain exposure to high‑value cross‑border M&A, private equity transactions, complex structured finance matters, fund formations, real‑estate tax structuring, employee incentives, debt restructurings, securitisation tax, and advisory projects on some of the most sophisticated transactions in the market. The practice handles work for leading financial institutions, global corporates, asset managers and investment funds, offering a varied and technically rich workload that allows associates to develop into genuine all‑rounders.

The team places strong emphasis on training and development, with juniors receiving hands‑on support from partners who are deeply invested in their progression. Associates at all levels enjoy early responsibility, meaningful client interaction and exposure to a wide variety of tax issues that many firms split across multiple teams. Who We’re Looking For

• 1PQE+ (no upper limit; strong juniors, seniors or partner‑level candidates will all be considered).
• England & Wales qualified or internationally qualified with strong London experience.
• Experience across any area of corporate, finance or funds tax; broad tax exposure welcomed.
• Top‑tier background preferred, though partners have become more flexible for exceptional talent.
• Technically strong, collaborative and ambitious, with a genuine interest in high‑end transactional tax.

Working Model & Package

• Hybrid model: 50% from home.
• Target hours: 1,800.
• NQ salary £150k, with senior levels adjusted accordingly.
• Bonus awarded upon hitting target hours (set amount, details provided during interview).
