Job description
Systems & CAFM Development Manager

Department: Estates & Facilities – BEM (Building Engineering Maintenance) Band: 8a (37.5 hours per week).

Job Summary

You will lead the development, management and operation of Building Engineering Maintenance services, providing expert leadership across data, information, project and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain asset data, condition appraisal, SFG 20 maintenance data and CAFM system reporting.
  • Lead data quality, governance, and compliance across the BEM department.
  • Project manage data initiatives, information collection, process development and policy implementation.
  • Administer performance management, staff development, training, appraisal and recruitment for BEM staff.
  • Set and monitor KPIs, SLAs and cost‑effective delivery of services to improve value to the Trust.
  • Provide technical and operational support to service managers and stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Ensure adherence to Trust policies, health & safety, environmental and information governance.
  • Translate complex information for internal and external audiences and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the Trust at internal and external meetings, reporting on system performance and strategies.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc or equivalent in a technical discipline (e.g., IT, engineering).
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner project management qualification.
  • Significant experience in estates, facilities or technical management, focusing on data and information systems.
  • Proven leadership of teams, development, training and performance management.
  • Experience with CAFM/CMMS systems, asset management and PPM scheduling.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, MS Office and data governance.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate or masters qualification in a related discipline.
  • Experience in NHS estates or hospital maintenance management.
  • Knowledge of BMS and CAFM integration, ISO 55001 asset management.
  • Experience in change management and policy development.
