Stock Condition Surveyor – Croydon Council

Background

Croydon Council has made major strides in transforming its housing services, investing over £30 million in home upgrades, launching a new repairs contact centre, and completing stock condition surveys on 86% of homes. With a £166 million regeneration of Regina Road underway and a strong focus on safety, customer care, and resident‑led change, Croydon is committed to delivering high‑quality homes and services as part of its Future Croydon programme.

Your New Role

As Stock Condition Surveyor, you will play a vital role in shaping Croydon’s housing investment strategy. Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will collect and maintain accurate stock condition data to inform long‑term investment decisions and annual work programmes. You will carry out detailed property surveys, produce reports, and contribute to the development of the Asset Management Strategy, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and supporting environmental objectives.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of stock condition surveys and building regulations.
  • Experience in social housing and asset management.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications
  • HNC/D in Construction or related field.
  • Experience using asset management databases and handheld surveying devices.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel within the borough.
